The International Water Association (IWA) is seeking abstracts for oral and poster presentations for this upcoming event. Learn “What we’ve known and What are the Future Challenges in Water Supply and Water Reuse practices” at the 7th IWA International Conference on Natural Organic Matter in Water (NOM7), October 7–10 2019 at the Hitotsubashi Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The NOM7 conference is the specialist conference on Natural Organic Matter (NOM) in water and the only conference dedicated solely to dynamics and impacts of NOM in water. This conference will focus on current trends in advancing the technology, innovation and climate change adaptation of public water supply, wastewater and recycling treatment processes, as well as research addressing the environmental, health, and treatment process challenges of today.
As you may be aware, NOM in water has multiple impacts on water treatment and water supply, and there arises new issues such as global warming impacts on forest ecosystems and NOM, relation between the colour of lakes and autochthon production of NOM or the microbial stability in drinking water pipes as a function of NOM in water. To build on the success of recent NOM conferences in Perth (2013) and Malmo (2015), NOM7 will focus on several topics e.g. innovations on monitoring, characterization and measurement of NOM, models and empirical understanding on NOM dynamics in source waters, climate change and NOM in aquatic environment, NOM as disinfection by-product precursors, wastewater effluent as a source of NOM, land use and catchment management strategies for reducing NOM in raw waters. NOM in water matters all over the world.
